CHALLENGES
- the proper functioning of the IT Council of the Nur-Sultan’s Akimat under the chairmanship of the Akim of Nur-Sultan;
- awareness-raising activities and explanatory work for applicants to start-up projects on measures of state support in the field of innovation development;

- launching marathons under the auspices of the Astana Innovations Challenge which is a series of activities within the framework of the development of the innovative ecosystem of Nur-Sultan and aimed at solving urban technological problems through the active involvement of citizens, Scientific, business-start-up communities and mentors from various fields;
- holding «STEM Olympiads» among schoolchildren to identify talented children in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics;
- seeking grant support from the international IT community and implementing joint projects;
FUNCTIONS
- Organization and implementation of activities aimed at the development of an innovative ecosystem;
- The organization and holding of meetings and round tables with the participation of high-ranking officials of Nur-Sultan’s akimat, the Government, the Presidential Administration and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on innovation issues within the framework of the Society’s competencies;
- Cooperation with representatives of urban innovation infrastructure, State bodies and organizations implementing State policies to support industrial innovation;
- Assistance in the promotion of domestic innovation projects in domestic markets;
PROJECT DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT
Astana Innovations creates favorable and comfortable conditions for residents and guests of the capital based on «smart city» decisions.
CHALLENGES
- Realization of projects within the framework of «Smart Astana» concept;
- Analysis of data obtained from government and other databases, as well as from information resources of the akimat of the city of Nur-Sultan using high-level programming languages (Python, Java, C#, Swift, PHP, C++, Matlab, RSQL, Mysql etc.);
- Modification of the mobile application services «Smart Astana»;
- Analysis of projects implemented in the city of Nur-Sultan within the framework of the «Smart Astana» concept;
- Monitoring of the implementation of projects on introduction of new technologies by state institutions of the city of Nur-Sultan within the framework of «Smart Astana» concept.
FUNCTIONS
- Implementation of the project «Integrated Information System «Smart Astana»;
- Implementation and management of big data and open data projects;
- Introduction of pilot projects within the framework of the «Smart Astana» concept;
- Monitoring and analysis of the best international practices and solutions of the domestic developers of innovative technologies, ensuring realization of the directions of the project concept «Smart Astana» and transformation of the capital of Kazakhstan into a «smart» stable city.
CABLE SEWER
Astana Innovations leases cable sewers and creates a competitive environment for Nur-Sultan communication operators.
CHALLENGES
- Organization of technical maintenance - maintenance of the cable sewerage of the Society;
- Provision of cable sewerage services and income generation;
- Technical supervision of the work carried out in the cable sewers of the Society, as well as the construction of the cable sewers of the city, on behalf of the akimat of the city of Nur Sultan.
FUNCTIONS
- Participation in the reception and operation of cable sewers on behalf of the akimat of the city of Nur Sultan;
- Provision of cable sewerage services to the Society;
- Provision of services for the development and issuance of technical conditions for the use of cable sewerage by the Society and the city of Nur Sultan.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Astana Innovations works to process, analyze and ensure the relevance of data from government and corporate information systems in order to build a common data infrastructure taking into account the specific requirements of third-party databases.
CHALLENGES
- Monitoring and ensuring the relevance of the Nur-Sultan database;
- Analysis of data from State and other databases with the possibility of using high-level programming languages;
- To ensure the formulation and implementation of technical policies and the coordination of activities relating to the creation, introduction, operation and development of information technologies;
- Development of algorithms for optimization and automation of existing information processes, development of analytical data models;
- Ensuring the quality of operation and maintenance of information systems in the framework of the new projects of the Society.
FUNCTIONS
- Organizing the updating of information in State databases on the instructions of the akimat of the city of Nur Sultan;
- Collection of data from akimat information systems and databases, State bodies and other sources, determination of data set parameters, processing for errors and correlations, interpretation and visualization;
- Development of information and analytical systems for the construction of a common data infrastructure, taking into account the specific requirements of external databases and the strategy for the development of activities;
- Management of the information technology projects assigned to the Centre.
MONITORING OF THE VIDEO RECORDING SYSTEM
Astana Innovations provides a high level of security for residents and guests of the city of Nur-Sultan through video surveillance systems (214 of its own and 629 integrated cameras) and video surveillance of SDA violations (18 hardware and software complexes).
CHALLENGES
- Reducing crime and traffic accidents, minimizing crime;
- Improved prevention of traffic violations;
- Use of technological tools to search and analyse crime detection data.
FUNCTIONS
- Video surveillance of streets, residential areas and other areas of mass concentration;
- Photographic recording of traffic violations at intersections and linear sections of the city.
MONITORING OF THE SYSTEM OF COMPREHENSIVE LIFE SUPPORT
One of the activities of Astana Innovations is the monitoring of the public-private partnership project «Creation and operation of the hardware-software complex of photo-video fixation and video analytics in the city of Nur-Sultan».
CHALLENGES
- The monitoring of the PPP project includes: - Monitoring the performance of the APC, CCTV and integrated cameras at the PPP Facility (Launch Complex 1, Launch Complex 2);
- Survey of sites (facilities, structures) for the installation of APC, general video surveillance cameras (jointly with a private partner);
- Monitoring of the progress of the installation and commissioning of the survey of sections (facilities, structures) following the installation of APC and general video surveillance cameras;
- Preparation and coordination of the layout of APC and CCTV (jointly with a private partner).

Responsibilities:
- ensuring compliance with external regulatory requirements and international best practices on anti-corruption issues;
- identification, assessment and reassessment of corruption risks;
- ensuring compliance with the basic principles of combating corruption in accordance with the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan" on combating corruption".
Functions
- conducting awareness-raising activities on the issues of combating corruption and the formation of an anti-corruption culture;
- take measures to identify, monitor and resolve conflicts of interest;
- development of corporate ethical values;
- сontrol over compliance by the company's employees with anti-corruption legislation, as well as the code of corporate ethics;
- conducting an internal analysis of corruption risks in accordance with the Order of the chairman of the agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service Affairs and anti-corruption dated October 19, 2016 No. 12 "on approval of standard rules for conducting an internal analysis of corruption risks" with the involvement of representatives of civil and business community institutions;
- conducting internal investigations on the basis of appeals (complaints) about the facts of corruption and/or participation in it;
- assistance to the authorized anti-corruption body in conducting an external analysis of corruption risks in the company's activities.
